Find Someone Who Past Simple
In a “Find Someone Who” activity, students engage in a speaking exercise where they seek out classmates who match given descriptions. Each student receives a list of statements and must ask their peers questions based on these statements. For example, if the statement is “Find someone who traveled to another country last year,” the student must find a classmate who fits that description, note their name, and share the information with the group, possibly asking for additional details related to the statement.
This “Find Someone Who” activity is designed to practice using Past Simple.
You can also encourage your students to ask follow-up questions.
Example:
Student A: Rachel, did you travel to another country last year?
Student B: Yes, I did.
Student A: Where did you visit?
Student B: I visited Germany.
Student A: How long were you in Germany?
Student B: I was there for 5 days.
etc.
